The Girl
To everyone in her small town of Floyd Virginia, Rose was the perfect little southern girl that everyone loved. She was also the girl that you were always seeing everywhere, but not for long. Rose is a member of Floyd United Methodist Church (FUMC), which has been around since 1875. Three generations of Rose’s family have attended FUMC over the years and it holds very special place in Rose’s heart. Now this church is where Rose truly flourished into a wonderful young lady. She made a ton of friends and she was involved in pretty much anything and everything that you could be involved in at her age. She sang a lot in her church and everybody knew that her passion was music since she was a little girl. Rose is now 14 years old and she has grown so much. This coming year, Rose is heading into ninth grade in Floyd County High School, which is a huge step for her considering that this is a whole new school and she is going to have to make a good impression on all of the new teachers that she will be meeting this year. There is a lot of pressure on Rose and she is not sure if she is ready to handle it all. She does know, however, that she has great friends and an awesome mentor to help her along the way. She also has a job at one of the smaller stores in the town of Floyd called Blue Ridge Florist. So now let's get to the main part of the story. it was August 1st 2017 when Rose went missing and it was not like any normal person missing event where the family and friends don’t figure out she was missing for like a couple hours people knew right away. She went missing at exactly 1:00pm and people started to realize that she was gone at around 1:30pm now at this point the town police have been notified that she was gone. Now let’s look at the situation from Rose’s point of view. She was walking home from her job at the florists and she was carrying a box of roses home for her grandmother when she felt this weird sensation on her back but she thought nothing of it she thought maybe it was just the wind or something no big deal. After walking for a little bit Rose now had a different feeling like someone was watching her. She finally built up the courage to look behind her,”AHHHHHHHHHH” she screamed thinking that there would be someone there but there was no one to be seen. So she kept walking as she was walking she heard a swish in the bushes. As she contemplated to herself what it possibly could have been she heard it again and once she heard that same spine chilling sound she knew that something was definitely not right. She felt her palms start to sweat, her lip was quivering, she had the goosebumps. She wanted to scream for help but there was no one around because at this point she had trailed off away from home so whoever may be following her would not know where she lived. As she walked farther and farther there were less and less opportunities to get help she had recently passed a gas station where she easily could have ran in and asked them to call for help. So she did what any teenage girl would do she ran screaming at the top of her lungs, “AHHHHHHHHHHHHH HELP ME PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!” Then it was final someone had grabbed her and put a white rag over her face and knocked her out. At this point she was unconscious and did not know anything that was going on. But we do. She was then thrown into the back of a van by a guy named Victor. Victor is a fugitive on the loose he is from new york and he traveled his way down to virginia and he captured Rose. Once he put her in the van he drove to an abandoned shack in the middle of nowhere. When Rose finally woke up which was about two hours later her vision was blurred and she looked around the room and she saw what looked like another girl sitting across from her but she thought she was just dreaming so she refused to believe what was actually going on. But then in a very faint and whispered voice the girl who was sitting across from her said, ”hello? Who are you?” she did not know what to say back does she say,”I'm Rose” or is it a trap she thought to herself. Is this girl with that evil man who kidnapped me? So she decided to say,”Well who are you?” she replied in whispered voice with,”Keep your voice down or Victor will hear you!” So she said,”I’m sorry my name is Rose and that man that you were just talking about he snatched me when I was walking home from my job at the flower store I was bringing my grandmother home some roses for her birthday I had a feeling that someone was watching me but I ignored it.” she said,” wait you dropped roses? Isn't your name Rose?”,”yes how did you know that?”,”Well I overheard Victor say sweet dreams Rose, but my point here is that if you dropped them and he did not pick them up when the police investigate and they find the roses they may have a clue where to find us!” Meanwhile back in her hometown the police sent out an amber alert and were questioning her family and friends to see who was with her at the time of her disappearance and what she was doing because any little clue could help they are looking for anything and everything that could have possibly happened. For all they know right now she could be with a friend at their house they don't know anything for sure yet. But as the girl in the shed with Rose predicted the flowers that Rose dropped where found and that was the first clue in the investigation. Meanwhile back in the shed Victor just walked back in the door and when he did Rose felt the same spine chilling feeling. He talked to them but Rose refused to listen she basically tuned him out and just looked around the shed to see where she was. Let me paint you a picture of the shed right now, Rose is being constrained with ropes she is ted to a broom but she thinks that she is tied to a chair so she does not thinks she can stand up. Around her are a bunch of woodshop tools like saws and rakes and just normal things that you would find in a shed. Her mouth is not constrained in any way so she can talk to Emma. Now for Emma she is actually tied to a chair and she is tied with what looks like chains but they are so rusty and look as though they are covered in mud. So Rose thinks of a really smart question to ask Emma,”Has he fed you or given you water yet.” She whispered and Emma replied with, “He has given me water and crackers.” This tells Rose that he is not looking to just kill them right away it seems like he wants to see them suffer from severe fear of what is going on and at the time it is August 1st and it is hot! At this point Rose can feel the sweat dripping off her eyebrow and slowly reaching her eye but she can’t wipe it off because her hands are tied behind her back so she stretches her shoulder to wipe it off but it is very hard because she has no sleeves on she is in a white tank top now he must have taken off her blue t-shirt that she had on so she was just left with the sweat stained dirt stained kind of white tank top. When Rose looked over at Emma who was at the time in a deep sleep she was wearing the same thing and dirt stained white tank top with jean shorts. She thought to herself is this a coincidence? Meanwhile in her hometown her family was being questioned by the police. Her grandmother Lucina was up first for questioning. The first question that the police always asked was, “How are you related to Rose?” Of course Lucina said,”I’m Roses grandmother” The next question was what was she last wearing. Lucina Rose’s grandmother replied with,”She was wearing jean shorts and a blue t-shirt with a white tank top underneath.” The next question was a little more intense than the last. The asked Lucina,”Is there any one that could possibly be out to get Rose?” “Of course not!” said Lucina, "Everyone in this town absolutely adores Rose no one would ever, ever, ever lay a hand on her!” So then the police decided to question more of her family and some friends. But then something crazy happened, Victor showed up! Lucina gave him a huge hug. The police took Victor in for questioning last. The first question the police asked him was, “how are you related to Rose?” Victor answered with, "I am rose’s uncle I have never really gotten to know her because I live in new York. I don’t even think she knows I exist.” That took an unexpected turn. Let’s go back to the shed where Rose and Emma were waiting because victor had not been back in a while and she heard him driving away so Rose thought this is the perfect time for me to escape. Rose and Emma came up with a plan. So a couple minutes after making a great plan they put it into action. They had to do this soon because if not they will be stuck there for only the lord knows how much longer because they have to this while Victor is out. They finally started to move rose carefully stood up and shimmeyed out of the rope slowly and as quietly as possible. She could feel a tingly sensation all over her body like there were hundred of little needles sliding down her body until finally the broom slid over her hands so she could just pull it down the rest of the way. The next step was to untie Emma. As she was doing this she could actually feel the droplets of sweat accumulating and running down her forehead while she scrambled to untie this girl who she barely knows but, as she is doing this out of the corner of her eye she sees a white van much like the one she was dragged into pull up into the driveway. It was at that point that Rose knew that she was going to be in a lot of trouble. Quickly she scrambled around desperately to try and untie Emma but unfortunately for her she did not work well under pressure. Finally after what felt like forever she got Emma untied. They went straight to the door and ran like they never had before into the woods. They were at a safe distance and decided they would look back to see what was going on. They saw something they wish they did not see. The unimaginable, they saw another unconscious girl being dragged in like a dead body. They knew that Victor was going to notice that they were gone and go looking so they knew that they needed to move and they needed to do it fast. They ran and ran and ran until they could not run any longer. They decided to hid in the bushes and see what they were surrounded by they were near a dirt road so they walked beside the dirt road looking for anyone who had a telephone or access to help. Finally after walking for Five miles they came across a gas station. They thought this was it they were going to be saved and they would find the girl in the shed and save her too but, somehow Victor was at the gas station! He must be looking around for them! So Rose and Emma did the smartest thing and just stayed in the woods and looked for a new place. Finally after another Five miles they found a fast food restaurant and they saw no sign of Victor so he may have already been there. They ran in screaming, “ WE NEED HELP SOMEONE CALL THE POLICE!!!” So the manager walked up to them and said, “ what seems to be the problem young ladies?” Rose answered saying, “ WE WERE KIDNAPPED AND THIS MAN PUT US IN A SHED WE ESCAPED BUT NOW HE HAS ANOTHER GIRL HIS NAME IS VICTOR” The man looked very confused but he said he would call the police. Within minutes the police came in like a swarm they wrapped us up in blankets and then had us tell them everything that happened in detail. Meanwhile back in the shed Victor knew that the police were on to him so he had to move somewhere with a more discreet location. Little did he know Emma caught the license plate while he was at the gas station. So no matter where he went they would always find him.
